Wedding cards

 

I filled an order for 3 wedding cards. One had to be "beachy" the other 2, traditional.

Since they were all for different weddings I knew it would be ok to keep them similar.

The first card had a shell, the second one, I used flowers.

I embossed the flap of the envelope to coordinate with the card.

A nice touch I often forget.



Sr Center card 10/27/11

I saw this card on Stampin Connection. ( a site for SU Demos only) LOVE IT! The colors and simplicity of this card were perfect for the large group that day. Yikes...the sudden increase in attendance has caught me by surprise. At the last 2 classes, I had 15 in attendance!

Gold embossing powder for the leaf then watercolored with fall colors

Field Flowers on encyclopedia pages...yep, I'm recycling...LOL

May 2011 Sr Center cards...

We only had one class in May, because the AC went out and it was HOTTTT! Here are the cards I designed and the ladies made during that class. The fish were made from a strip of scallop diecuts made using the Tasteful Trim die from Stampin' Up!

I was "published"...

This experience should be added to my "live and learn" file. I've added lots to that recently! ;) I was contacted by our local newspaper. They wanted details about the class I volunteer to teach at the Sr Center. I gladly gave an 1.5 hr interview and the reporter requested pics of the cards I created for the class...along with photos of the ladies working on their cards. I narrowed down to 20, the photos I sent. This was the ONLY picture published and I was quoted with just 2 sentences and those were taken out of context. The reporter didn't know what a rubber stamp was....??? I was kind of annoyed and embarrassed.

Big Shot card...

I chose to keep the colors subdued for this sympathy card. i used Very Vanilla CS, Crumb Cake ink. Embossing folder is named Vintage Wallpaper and the flower is Fun Flowers. Oh and teh frame is from the upcoming 2011-2012 catalog and is called Four Frames. it works perfectly with the Decorative Label punch.

Cupcake stamps and punch...

I used the new cupcake stamps and punch to create this card for my DD to give my Mom for her b'day.

Case'd from Pennie

I case'd this card, originally made by Pennie. Her card had a Whisper White card base, where mine is Melon Mambo. I used a different greeting, too. Thanks for inspiration Pennie!

Framed Tulips

Lots of products from the Occasions mini used here. LOVE this new set, Clearly for You. The embossing folder is one I have used for many of cards recently. It's an exclusive to Stampin' Up...Framed Tulips. Colors are Very Vanilla, Basic Black and "Pear Pizzazz". I CASE'd this bookmark from Shelli. I added it to my card by simply cutting a slit in the front of the card and slipping it in. Thanks for stopping by!

Is it distracting?

Tried something new with the blog. Changed the header and title areas. Do you think they are distracting? I've tried to keep the blog simple, in the past, but loved these new designs.

Created this card for my Sr Center Class back in September. Isn't he cute?!!

My DD asked me to make a card for her friend. Not much stamping, but the colors really made this card "pop".
Not my usual colors, but they worked perfectly for this card.

Dusty Durango base
Bermuda Bay textured layer
Crushed Curry Big Shot Daisies with Durango centers
Sincere Salutations greeting on Curry and the Scalloped Oval Punch completed the card.

love the owl punch...

so, i'm still typing with one hand and 1 finger, but making progress. plz forgive my abbreviations and typos. Anyway, I hesitated when i first saw this cute owl punch from Stampin' Up!...but after seeing so many creative ideas, i was sold. this night scene is much cuter IRL...it's hard to take photos with one good hand and one shaky hand. the misty/cloudy night sky was created using white craft and a piece of cotton.

Ahhhhhh...

Broke my arm, so the blog will not be a priority. Hope to be posting again, soon!

Simply Adorned...

The Simply Adorned charms are so fun to personalize. If you notice, I added a small self adhesive rhinestone from the kit
Stampin' Up sold this Spring. Fortunately, we will be able to purchase them in packs of 150 (50 each of 3 sizes) for only $4.95! Can't wait...bring on the "bling"

Elements of Style again...

Elements of Style is a favorite set of mine. This time we used the same swirl as we used on the card in the previous post. We used Soft Suede ink and Kraft CS for a totally different look. The photo doesn't show the Shimmer Mist...so much prettier in real life. It's such a nice subtle way to add an elegant touch.

Kinda bright...

Recently, I bought a previously owned book of poetry that elementary school children had written. Tore out some pages and went to town. We used Verasmark and the swirly stamp from Elements of Style (love it!), then embossed in clear embossing powder. Next we sponged Summer Sun ink over the embossed swirl. The embossing swirl resists the ink and remained white. This version was kinda bright...I'm eager to try this with different colors of ink.

I have to admit...

...I LOVE diecuts! I stamped part of the large floral image from Elements of Style onto the diecut butterfly and colored with pencils for a quick and easy card.
